If you sell items that pull from a Master product ie Glass of Wine from a full bottle, you can set up and track your stock levels from the use of Master and Child Products.  To set this up follow the guide below. 


Create a Master Product

While in your Back Office

1. Go to the MANAGE Tab

2. Select Product and the Product List

3. Click ADD PRODUCT on the top right hand corner




4. Enter a Name for the Product (it is a good idea to start the master product name with 'MP' in front of it. This helps differentiate your master product from regular products.)

5. Enter a description for your Master Product (again using the 'MP' at the start)

6. Enter the Cost Price if known

7. Select a Tax Rate ie GST or GST free

8. Input the Margin

9. Select the Category for the master Product

10. Select Supplier

11. Enter a Product order code to help identify the product when you want to reorder

12. Select Unit of Sale (the unit of sale is the smallest measurement the product will be sold ie box of chips : Unit/Each.

13. Enter the Volume of Sale (this is the total number of times that the unit of sale can fit into the total product volume. ie 1ml can fit into a 750ml bottle 750 times

14. Uncheck sell on till (you do not need your master product to appear on the till front)

15. Enter the Starting stock total. ie if you are adding 3 bottles of spirits add 3

16. Select the location you stock this item.

17. Then click ADD this will make sure your master product is set up.


Add a Child Product


While in your Back Office

1. Go to the MANAGE Tab

2. Select Product and the Product List

3. Click ADD PRODUCT on the top right hand corner


4. Enter the product name (this appears on the till)

5. Enter the Product Description (appears on the customer receipts)

6. Select the Tax Rate

7. Enter the Sales Price (inc Tax)

8. Select a takeaway tax rate (if applicable) and enter the takeaway sales price if needed

9. Enter the barcode for the item or have the system generate one

10. Select a Category for the item

11. Add a button Colour

12. Click ADD and then your Child Product will be ready to link to the Master Product


Linking Child Product to Master Product


1. Find the Child Product you want to link to the Master and Select ADVANCED

2. Scroll down to the MASTER PRODUCTS area

3. Select the MASTER PRODUCT CATEGORY where the Master product is currently stored


4. Find the Master Product and select it

5. Amounts (Units to Deduct: select the number of units to deduct when this item is sold ie 300ml can

of coke)

6. Click ADD when you have finished

7. Now you will have successfully set up a Master Product and a Child Product
